Arago Mini joninis vandens filtras – kompaktiškas geriamojo vandens valymo įrenginys, šalina kalkių nuosėdas, saugo buitinę techniką ir sumažina energijos suvartojimą
Water filter ARAGO MINI
The ARAGO mini device is an ionic source water treatment device that eliminates calcium deposits. It is especially intended for installation in front of household appliances such as a washing machine, dishwasher, boiler (hot water tank). Its action significantly extends the life of the installed equipment. The release of zinc ions permanently alters the structure of the carbonate minerals in the water, preventing their deposition. The altered minerals are gradually flushed out of the water system. Thanks to this method of treatment, the water retains not only important minerals but also its original sensory properties. ARAGO is a modern, eco-friendly and maintenance-free water treatment solution – it does not require a power source or chemicals to operate, reducing operating and service costs. Provides reliable protection against limescale for 6-8 years (depending on water quality, composition and flow rate). ARAGO is made of hygienically safe materials of the highest quality and is intended for contact with drinking water. The product meets the requirements of Decree 409/2005 Coll. on hygiene requirements for products in contact with drinking water.

HOW DOES ARAGO WORK?

The hardness of water is mainly due to the dissolved calcium bicarbonate (CaHCO3) content. By changing the temperature (heating), the bicarbonate is converted to insoluble carbonate (CaCO3). Precipitation of carbonate and subsequent deposition on the surface of heat exchangers, heating coils or pipes creates hard “limescale”. This hard limescale is one of the modifications of calcium carbonate-calcite. The ARAGO device works on a natural electrochemical principle, during which zinc ions are released. The presence of zinc ions in the water will cause the carbonate not to crystallise as hard calcite but to crystallise as a non-stick and easily leachable aragonite. Although calcite and aragonite are two chemically identical substances (calcium carbonate), they have different structures and physical properties. And if a small amount of aragonite does settle on the surface (in appliances where there is no water flow, such as a kettle), it can be easily wiped off. Changes in the structure of calcite and aragonite are permanent.

Installation

Install the device in water distribution systems with working pressure, flow and temperature not exceeding the technical characteristics of the product (see table of technical parameters). The ARAGO mini treatment device is installed in front of the appliance in a vertical or horizontal position regardless of the direction of flow.

Lifetime

  • The lifetime of the ARAGO mini treatment device is in the range of 6-8 years depending on the chemical composition and flow volume of the source water.
  • The malfunctioning of the equipment will be manifested by the re-deposition of limescale.
  • If the installation includes a mechanical dirt filter, we recommend regular maintenance of the filter screen to remove trapped dirt.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

In a family house, Arago can be installed behind the water meter or behind the main water shut off or
pressure regulator at the cold-water inlet. It can also be mounted directly into the water meter shaft.
Installation behind the water meter in the water meter shaft is often the simplest installation method.
For apartments, the Arago is ideally installed on the main hot and cold water supply to the apartment.
If there is no space in the house or apartment for the installation of Arago (later installation), we
recommend at least the installation of Arago mini, which can always be installed in front of appliances
such as washing machines, dishwashers and hot water heaters.

Yes, after the installation of the ARAGO water treatment device, the water is suitable for drinking.
Unlike water softeners, ARAGO does not add sodium to the water. It also does not remove the
naturally occurring minerals found in hard water that are good for our diet. The water is still perfectly
safe for the whole family to drink, including infants.

If you’ve cleaned the old limescale off your kettle, what you see now is a build-up of soft limescale that
can be easily wiped off with a cloth or brush and running water. With untreated water, this would be
impossible. However, the laws of nature are inexorable – if you immediately pour boiling water out of
the kettle, the residue will immediately form steam and then a small amount of classic limescale will
settle at the bottom of the kettle. We recommend that you leave the minimum amount of water in the
kettle, cool it down before pouring it out and wiping off any fine deposits of soft limescale.

Modern washing machines and dishwashers work with water temperatures up to 60 °C. Thanks to the
installation of ARAGA in the system in front of the washing machine and dishwasher, their electric
heating coils hardly foul at all. Therefore, these spirals operate without the energy loss caused by scale
deposited on the spiral. This means saving around 20% of the energy needed to heat water in
washing machines and dishwashers. Another bonus of using ARAGO is the soft water effect. It
reduces the use of water softening tablets and salt, reduces the amount of detergent and, as the water
is calcite-free, the fabrics can withstand more wash cycles while maintaining the quality of the fabrics.

Arago requires minimal maintenance. This mainly involves checking the tightness of the connection
with the piping and also checking the interior of the equipment. If a mechanical dirt filter is not installed,
it is recommended to check the inside of the unit once a year. If there are any deposits inside, just rinse
the tube with water or ascorbic acid (vitamin C) or acetic acid (vinegar). If there is no problem with
deposits, the service interval can be extended.

You should have it installed at the same time as the bathroom or kitchen installation, as this will reduce
your installation costs. Installation usually takes only 1-2 hours.

Yes! ARAGO demonstrably reduces the negative effects of hard water and prevents the build-up of
compact hard limescale.

ARAGO is not a water softener. Softening treatment devices (sometimes called catexes) work on the
principle of ion exchange. The water flowing through the softener passes through a catex resin that
“traps” calcium and magnesium ions, but also releases a proportional amount of sodium (ions are
exchanged). This leads to an increase of sodium cations in the water and thus to a change in the
chemical composition of the water – the water is depleted of calcium and magnesium or other cations
that are beneficial to the body. The maximum amount of sodium in drinking water is regulated by
Decree No. 252/2004 Coll. and if very hard water (containing high concentrations of calcium and
magnesium) is softened, the permitted limit for sodium is often exceeded. Long-term excessive sodium
intake, for example, increases blood pressure in sensitive people and is not suitable for people on a
sodium diet.
Unlike a softener, ARAGO works on a natural electrochemical principle. A small amount of zinc cations
is released from the zinc “electrodes” inside the body of the ARAGA when water is flowing, which then
only affects
the way the calcium carbonate crystallizes. The water is not depleted of substances beneficial to
health, nor is there any accumulation of other substances.

ARAGO will not alter the favourable ratio of minerals contained in the water. In particular, it prevents
the depletion of water of calcium and magnesium. Calcium is the main building material of bones and
teeth, an important component of all muscles, and plays an important role in blood clotting. When
calcium is lacking in the diet, the body takes it from the bones. These thin out and osteoporosis
develops. Calcium deficiency can also result in periodontal disease, heart rhythm disorders, cramps
and fatigue. Magnesium plays an indispensable role in all processes in the body. It has anti-stress, antitoxic, anti-allergic and anti-inflammatory properties. It calms the nervous system, returns inner balance,
has a positive effect on the heart rhythm, and is necessary for the formation of protective substances. It
plays a huge role in the processes of blood clotting, in the function of the intestines, gallbladder and
bladder. When magnesium is lacking, it manifests itself in morning fatigue even after long hours of
sleep or insomnia, night sweats, heart palpitations, sudden dizziness, loss of balance, eyelid tremors,
hair loss, brittle nails, cramps, tingling in the legs. A person with magnesium deficiency gets tired
quickly, is sensitive to weather changes, often has headaches and has difficulty concentrating.

ARAGO works on a natural electrochemical principle, during which zinc ions are released, changing
the crystal structure of calcium carbonate (CaCO3) from compact calcite to non-stick and easily
washable aragonite, which is quickly and easily wiped away. ARAGO can be described as a zinc
cation reactor.

ARAGO does not protect equipment using steam, mainly because of the high temperatures. For steam
appliances, especially in the catering industry, other forms of treatment recommended by technology suppliers must be used.

Anyone can install the ARAGO Mini treatment device. The ARAGO Home and ARAGO Industry
variants can be installed by a skilled plumber.

This is because as the water on the surface dries, the soft scale becomes visible. Clean it by wiping with a cloth, without scrubbing or using detergents.

This is because zinc has a pleasant taste and at the same time the beneficial minerals are preserved in
the water.

Does ARAGO mean the end of limescale problems in washing machines, dishwashers or shower
heads?

Yes. Limescale has a low thermal conductivity, which reduces the efficiency of the heating elements.
ARAGO will reduce scale build-up, thus not reducing efficiency. The old limescale will be slowly eroded
and gradually changed into soft limescale, which will be continuously washed away by the flow.

When installing the device, it is necessary to follow the installation instructions. The device itself
contains no moving parts that could break down in normal operation.
As a reminder, zinc only slowly wears off, so we recommend replacing your equipment between 6-8
years to ensure protection is maintained. Replacement is very quick and usually takes only 30 minutes.
We remind you that the ARAGO Industry version includes a cartridge that needs to be replaced every
2 years to ensure optimal operation of the equipment.

No. ARAGO is a modern and environmentally friendly water treatment system – completely without
external power supply, regular maintenance, no chemicals and no magnets

The water pipes become clogged with sludge, the material is subject to corrosion and limescale
adheres to the walls. Scale is most often composed of calcium carbonate, whose porous structure makes it much easier for bacteria to adhere to the pipe surface. ARAGO eliminates the formation and adhesion of limescale on the pipe surface and thus reduces the risk of bacteria (e.g. Legionella).

The water that has undergone ARAGO treatment still contains all the beneficial minerals and has an altered crystal structure of calcium carbonate (CaCO3) from compact calcite to non-sticky and easily leachable aragonite. In addition, this treated water contains non-toxic zinc, which positively influences its taste.

The hardness value of the water will not change by passing through the device.

A cascade of zinc and copper electrodes are located inside the ARAGO treatment device. A potential difference is created in the water flowing through the device and zinc ions are released into the water. Zinc ions then interact with calcium bicarbonate. This interaction subsequently affects the way the scale crystallizes.

It is only functional when water is flowing – the flow of water creates a potential difference and releases zinc ions into the water. Thus, zinc does not accumulate in water. It is released only when water flows.
